Moderator permissions

General

 

Any user can be a moderator of the chat-room. The moderator rights can be either granter by a user with admin rights or they are acquired automatically after creating a public chat-room.

Room permissions set by moderator

 

Global and room limitations set by admin are inherited by all chat room users and cannot be overridden by moderator. However, a moderator can set additional limitations for chat room users. Let's see how this works:

 

1.Click the chat room avatar and select "Permissions" from the context menu

2.Under "Current Room Permissions" select "Permissions for all users in [Group Name]". Other permissions settings are available as read-only since they can be updated only by Virola admin

3.On the appeared window a moderator can see which permissions were granted and which were denied and change permissions to denied if necessary. However, it is not possible to change inherited "denied" permission to "granted"
