Virola Pricing and Licensing model
Is Insider Preview program free?
Yes, Virola Insider Preview Program is absolutely free and is not limited in time or by the number of users. The number of users is limited only by your server hardware capacity.
Insider Preview is available both for personal and commercial usage for unlimited time.
The purpose of Insider Preview is to get users' feedback for Virola future development and improvement. We want to build a loyal customers community and hope that some of you might want to upgrade to the more robust paid Virola version in the future.
Will Virola be free forever?
Insider Preview version (version 1.x.x) will be free forever. However, if you decide to upgrade to a paid version in the future, you would need to purchase a license.
What happens next?
Note! Further information is about our future plans and provided so that you may take a glance at the planned terms of distribution future paid Virola versions.
Paid Virola versions will be distributed as retail self-hosted software products under different licensing schemes. For example (the list is not final):
- free, unlimited in time version for small teams (up to 10 active users)
- paid, unlimited in time version for medium and big teams. The price will depend on the number of users specified in the license. First 10 active users will be free, additional users will cost $50 per active user. You can purchase additional users at any moment. There will be discounts for big teams and non-profit organizations.
- subscription-based license
By 'active user', we mean user profile created on your server with current 'Active' status. User profiles with 'Suspended' status can be kept to preserve the historical data consistent but they won't affect the total price.
The license will be valid for major Virola version. This means that the license for the version 2.0.0 will include free upgrade to any 2.x.x version. Upgrade to the version 3.x.x will be paid but the price will be lower comparing to the new license purchase.
The license is limited to one production server. You may make backup or test copies of this server but the production instance of the server shall remain single.
You shall not use non-commercial license for commercial purpose. You shall not try to bypass the license restrictions.
