Virola Client Installation on macOS

The Virola Client application is an essential part of Virola Messenger. The client app is used for communication and collaboration via the Virola Server, as well as for Virola Server administration.

There are two ways to install the Virola Client on macOS:

  • From the Mac App Store. This is the easiest method. The downside is that app publishing on the Mac App Store is not immediate, so the Virola Client available there may be slightly outdated compared to the version published on the Virola website.
  • From a .dmg file downloaded from the Virola website. This method is a bit trickier, as the app may be blocked by macOS Gatekeeper and require additional steps to allow it to run. However, this approach ensures you get the latest version of the client.

How to Install Virola Client from the Mac App Store

  1. Open the App Store app and use the search bar to find "Virola Messenger", or open the Virola Client page on the Mac App Store directly.
  2. Click the Get button next to the app.
  3. Click Install and authenticate with your Apple ID or Touch ID if required.

After installation, the Virola Client app will be downloaded and installed automatically and will appear in Launchpad.
